Haircuts

Today, my brothers went to get a haircut, so I brought Kelly. She liked to watch them sweep up the hair, but she was good. She just sat and watched.

My Brother's Birthday

About two weeks ago it was my brother's 14th birthday. We went to New York Pasta and Pizza to celebrate. We brought Kelly and she sat under the table the whole time. Usually when we go out to eat she sleeps but this time she stayed awake almost the whole time, but she behaved really well.

Weekend at the Beach

Last weekend we went camping with some friends at the beach. It was Kelly's first time going camping with us, and she had so much fun. She loved the swimming in the ocean. She met another dog at the beach, and they went swimming together. On Saturday we took Kelly to Bare Foot Landing. She enjoyed walking on the bridge and watching the fish. I think Kelly's favorite part of the camping trip was playing in the ocean.

Kelly's Last Puppy Vet Visit

Kelly went to her last puppy vet visit last Thursday. She loves the vet, because she gives Kelly cookies. When the vet walked in the room Kelly got so excited. Kelly got two shots and she didn't even yelp, but she never does when she gets shots.

Bowling

Yesterday, my family went bowling with my friend and her family. I brought Kelly with me. She behaved really well. She slept almost the whole time. She woke up one time because some little boys were playing with a bouncy ball, but she just sat there and watched them. I was so proud of her.

A Trip To The Mall

Today, we took Kelly to the mall. We shopped a while, and Kelly behaved really well. Then, we took Sterling and his friend to Extreme Play. Kelly just laid on the floor and watched the kids play. She is such a good puppy.

Play Time

Just recently Kelly has started playing a lot with Maybelline my dad's Siberian Husky and Molly my brother's Boston Terrier.  Molly and Kelly like to play tug of war in the backyard.  Molly also likes to take the toy from Kelly so she will chase her.  Kelly and Maybelline like to chase each other, they also like to lay on the cool floor together.

A Fun Weekend

Last weekend my grandma, uncle and two cousins came to stay with us for the weekend.  Kelly got to go to a few different places while they were here.  On Friday she got to go to the Billy Grahm Library and out to eat with us, and she got to go out to eat with us twice on Saturday.

My grandma, cousins, and uncle left Sunday morning.  After they left we went to church.  It was my mom's turn to teach children's church, so I brought Kelly.  Kelly was really good.  At first she wanted to run up to the kids, but she ignored them after I told her to stay.  I was so proud of her.

Kelly's First Puppy Raisers Meeting

Kelly went to her first puppy raisers meeting last Saturday.  She got to see her brother and sister for the first time since I've had her.  She also got to see her half brother for the first time.  She had fun playing with them before the meeting.

The meeting was at Harris Teeter.  All of the dogs went into Harris Teeter to walk around and to practice ignoring all of the distractions.  The younger puppies went in first then the older puppies went in.   Kelly did good ignoring all the distractions.  I even put a balloon in front of her and she ignored it.

After the little puppies went in Harris Teeter we walked them to a four lane intersection and let them watch the traffic and get used to it.  After the puppies watched the traffic we crossed the road.  All of the puppies did really good crossing the road and none of them were scared of the traffic.

College Placement Test

Today I had to go take the college placement test.  Kelly stayed in the car with my mom and brothers.  They walked around the campus some while I took the test.

After the test we went to Wal-mart.  My dad works in the pharmacy there, so we told him how I did on the test and showed Kelly to the people who work with him.  Kelly loved all of the attention.

When we left Wal-mart we went to eat lunch at Cook Out.  Kelly slept under the table the whole time.

A Trip To The Vet

Friday we took Kelly to the vet.  It was the first time we have taken her.  She had to get a flu shot.  When they gave her the shot she didn't even yelp.

After we went to the vet we went to Cracker Barrel because Sterling wanted to get a Webkinz.

New Puppy

Two days ago I got a Southeastern Guide Dog puppy to raise.  Her name is Kelly.  She is a yellow lab, and she's nine weeks old.  So far she's a really calm, laid back puppy.  The first night I had her she cried from two to four o'clock in the morning, but last night she slept all night long (from 11 PM to 7:30 AM).  She loves to play with our other dogs, but her favorite thing to do is sleep.  I'm sure that won't last long.
